This is pissing me off. PHN gets three off days in the first 10, we get none in the first 16. We get a Thursday night game in Tampa and a Friday day game in Baltimore the first week, they have time to schedule manicures. What the hell does the league office have against Baltimore? -duck

That's fine
I’d rather have our off days later in the season. I prefer our schedule. Players should be plenty fresh to start the season.

Opening Week rotation should look like this then?
6th (in Tampa): Millwood
7th (in Tampa): Guthrie
8th (in Tampa): Brian Matusz
9th (Camden Yards): Bergesen
10th (Camden Yards): Hernandez/Tillman
Does anyone know if my Matusz/Bergesen slotting is correct? I think Bergesen deserves an Opening Day start, I’ll be there and would love to see it.

I thought it was Bergesen then Matusz, but i'm not sure.
What up?

I think thats how it'll be once the season gets rolling.
But why so much talk of Millwood/Guthrie in Tampa, when the Camden Yards opener is more important?
I thought I heard somewhere that Bergesen will be doing it.

I think 3E's got the 3 slot. I'd rather see Matusz, and I think anyone that saw his start against MFY, wants to see him in person.

Well I'll be watching either way
Tuesday the 6th begins the sweetest week off of work I’ve ever had.
Bergesen was the best pitcher we had last year and he suffered a devastating injury to end the season. I guess I kind of took that for granted that he’d get the start. It doesn’t really matter though.

i'm sure this has been said a thousand times but
if you look at first five weeks you see Os will be tested early and often
hopefully by the time mid may rolls around we’ve got some good reasons for hope
Wow, I almost won a 5 game parlay, if ties were counted as pushes, I would have won!

if you pick a team to win then ties dont count
ties only count as pushes if you choose the line when its 0

Heh
I’ve heard “cool as a cucumber” but never “cool as a cookie.” Wieters is so amazing, new similes are invented on his behalf.
thanks, stuart.

Question
What does MFY stand for? And PHN for that matter?
Complaining is good for you as long as you're not complaining to the person you're complaining about. - Lynn Johnston (I don't know who that is...but it's a good quote.)
MFY is mother and yankees, you can fill in the blank. PHN is pink hat nation.

Ah thanks.
I assumed that was what the first one meant, but I wasn’t sure. I didn’t know PHN.

I’m guessing Dave was thinking one tought cookie and cool as a cucumber and mixed them. My favorite one my friend said was “don’t count your chickens before they’re in a basket”.

I like the chickens mixup… haha. And I think now I’ll find my self going around calling things “cool as a cookie”, I can see it.

One of my buddies is a big time Yankee fan
He’s not a very close friend, but when we get together we get along like we are. Anyway, he just started dating a girl who lives in Baltimore by way of Minnestoa. He lives in NYC but went to college in MD and lived in or near Severna park (he was JV while Tex was varsity).
So I met her for the 1st time and we all decided to take a trip to Camden to see the Twins play the O’s in June. I started talking Mauer with her (she’s actually quite the Twins fan) and she couldn’t stop saying how relieved she was he signed. I brought up Wieters and said it’d be great to see them both playing at the same time.
So anyway, my friend asked how many years he got (she answered 8). I then chimed in saying Wieters is ours for at least 6. The next 15 minutes was spent trashing my bud about how his team finally won’t be able to buy the best player and how he gets stuck with a 39 year old Posada while we get to watch Wieters develop and Mauer play in his prime. It was a beautiful thing. Suffice it to say the Twins are quickly becoming one of my favorite teams.

Looks like
I’ll be buying a house from a MFY fan. At first I was really upset about the idea of giving a MFY fan any money, but then I looked up what they paid for it and now I feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing how much they are going to lose. Win win!
How could you?
