How are Orioles in MLB 10 The Show?

I just got MLB 10: The Show yesterday and i figured I'd give a report of how I like the virtual team.

Basic Rankings:

Batting: 14th

Pitching: 27th

Defense: 17th

Overall: 20th

  • The best player for us is B-Rob, followed by the residents of 2110 Eutaw Street.
  • Stacey would infuriated by Sir Adorable's rating: 61 and 40 for contact and a 69 speed.
  • I find it strange that Kevin Millwood is the best pitcher, followed by Gonzo. They also fail to show any respect for 3E he's rated worse then Hendo and is only slightly better then Fat Albers.
  • Wieters is the only sophmores who's rating I'm happy with, 87 contact and 70 power. They evn have his turtle like speed down. (42)
  • The bullpen is atrocious I've played 7 games, four of them have resulted in the bullpen blowing a lead or making defecit worse. Gonzo is the only decent guy in the bullpen.

Well, even if I played with the MFY or PHN..

I would still suck, I’m just not good at this game.. But I did start a “Road To The Show” and I’m in AA with the likes of Felix Pie, which I thought was quite humorous.

What up?

PS3?

I only have a PS2 and this is the only game I ever buy so I’m really weighing buying a PS3 just so I can get a better version of the show.

i just didn’t know if the ps3 had better graphics…if not I may just buy it for ps2 again since the show is all i ever really buy.

PS3's graphics are insanely better

My PS3 is probably my favorite thing I own, and that includes all my instruments. Blu-ray, games, free online gaming and web surfing… its awesome. My launch system just died and I bought a new one. If you are thinking about getting one and can afford it, do it. You wont regret it.

That’s been the consensus…I’m kinda bummed though b/c all my buddies I grew up with have a Madden league going but it’s all xbox. I’ll probably go grab one soon.

Ok, here's the thing...

IMO the PS3 is definitely the better all around system. Free online play, free wireless internet adapter, blu-ray player, MLB the Show exclusive, etc. However, if all your friends play 360, just get a 360. Most of the enjoyment comes from playing with your friends. If you get a PS3 you’ll be getting a great system, but if all your buddies have a 360 you’re gonna be left out of all the good stuff anyway. It’s like playing fantasy football against random people vs. playing against 11 of your friends. It’s no contest.

Nah

I suck at madden. Plus, I kinda boycot xbox since they don’t have the show.

Well, there ya go

If you don’t think you’d play anything else online that you’d miss having your friends play with you (Call of Duty, basically) then by all means get a PS3.

The Show is leagues better than any baseball game for the XBox

which kind of sucks because XBox is imo a better gaming system, but to each their own. If you want to play The Show, you gotta get a PS3. Them’s the breaks, kid.

I havent bought any nex-gen system

But that’ll probably change once GT5 comes out

Well now

I guess that your decision is already made then.

by daveh873 on Mar 4, 2010 8:04 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, pretty much

If it wasnt for GT, i’d probably rather have an xbox. but i’ve been waiting years for that game to come out.

PS3

Is awesome, i’m not a fanboy or anything, but I love mine. The Show is amazing also, GT5 and God Of War 3 are going to be nice.

mlb 2k10

i have it for 360 and the orioles are actually rated decently. above the rays even i think…the pitching they say is way below average but they have our hitting at 84/100.. our pitchign i believe was 78 or something

I Don’t like how far down Tillman is on the ratings. He is a B for potential which I can handle, but there are three prospects who should be Erbe, Hobgood, and Arrieta who are all A potential which I can get down with, except they are all three already better overall than Tillman. Ummm ok?

ha!

It’s funny because it’s true.

"It feels like home,’’ Pie said. "All my friends are here."

Wieters doesn't need to be fast.

He can take his sweet ass time while doing his home run trot.

OK, this game is now awesome

PapelBum came in with a three run lead, 9 pitches laters, there was a party at home plate.

Just played my 1st game

against the Gnats. Gonzalez (whos pitching animation is WAY too long and makes me never want to use him again) blew the 2-1 lead in the top of the 9th (Matusz pitched 7 great innings with JJ easily bridging the gap) by giving up a 2 run bomb. Reimold flew out, Pie reached on a single up the middle. Luke PH for Atkins and grounded out, moving Pie to 2nd. Wiggs came in for Cesar and on a 1-2 pitch with 2 outs launched one off of Capps to the bullpen for the walk off. Stadium issues aside, this game is damn good.

I cant stand Gonzalez’s animation. Way too fucking long.

gonzo's slider seems to be eractic

he had 2 wild pitches with it one game, thankfully they had no influnce on the outcome.

In one game as a freshman at Miami, Wieters hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to put the Yellow Jackets ahead, then pitched the bottom of the ninth for the save. On that day, the God nickname was bestowed. - Sports Illustrated

So you’re saying the game is realistic?
