Matusz doesn't seem like he's on today
He’s clearly following Millwood’s lead
Bedard says he doesn't care and thinks goals are pointless.
Strikeouts are facist
Also, they can get your pitch count way up too early in the game.

If strikeouts are fascist
then I’ll be Mussolini
Bedard says he doesn't care and thinks goals are pointless.
I'm glad you avoided the other famous Fascist leader.
That would have ruined the day here, ya know.
I'm with π

How has Tatum looked so far?
I’m kind of hoping he beats out Chad.
To be understood is to be a prostitute. ~ Fernando Pessoa
He's young, cheap and a plus defender
And he’s on the 40-man. If Tatum doesn’t make the team, he will almost certainly be passed through waivers. Meanwhile, Chad is good with the pitchers, I suppose, but he’s not a plus defender nor much of a bat, so what exactly does he bring to the table?

duh
Veteranosity!

I'll bet it is worth every penny...
…of the $400,000 more the O’s would have to pay Moeller than Tatum.
Not that I care about saving them money, exactly, but I’ll take a commission if someone from the team reads this and decides to pick Tatum over Chad.

I'm pretty sure
that the Os are paying Moeller 2 mill. Now maybe some of that came in a buyout, but I would assume the package for this year will be more than an extra 400,000. I’m hoping Moeller can help Wieters with pitch-calling and then next year we have Tatum backing up
good answer
but I just can’t manage to put any effort into pondering the backup catcher role.
Bedard says he doesn't care and thinks goals are pointless.
Which is almost certainly a wise choice on your part

How did the two runs score?

double single double
hard hit balls to start the game
Bedard says he doesn't care and thinks goals are pointless.
I'm guessing he's working on pitches?
I’m not gonna freak that he gave up 2 runs. Not gonna do it. Not gonna…

At least he didnt have the worst outing of any young pitcher today
Max Scherzer: 0.1IP, 4H, 5ER, 3BB, 1HR
Oh, NOW it's Reh-VEER (like Paul)
Where did the get “Reverie” out of that?

Luke at 1B again, huh?
Wonder if it’s possibly Wiggy is dealt and Atkins goes to the bench with Luke starting the year at 1B, Pie in LF and Nolan DHing until his Achilles’ is 100%?

We can hope
but who in their right mind for trade for Wigginton?

Kansas City?

Really? Wow.
I’m starting to think Matusz is just working on striking people out and doesn’t really care what else happens.
Weaver's Fourth Law: Your most precious possessions on offense are your twenty-seven outs.
MLB.com is sucking right now

I know, i finally caved and reupped my mlb.tv account
refreshing the box score wasnt cutting it any more
I caved
and got the new atbat iphone app.
How good is background audio, didn’t like the price hike, but at least they added cool features.
yeah at bat is what i'm using
the buffer keeps filling

I didn't even realize the background audio existed
That’s awesome

No... just in general.
I havent had a chance to do much research on it. I know we avoid lame ‘google-type’ questions here, but I just wanted to know if there were any in particular you guys used and liked.

YES.
At Bat provides video all season and it’s very impressive.
but you have to have an MLB.tv membership to make it work. $19/month.
"I doubt he could reach [second base]...mostly cuz his fucking arm was in Aybar's nuts." – twistedlogic
Is it pretty clear, or does it chop up alot?

very good in 3G,
excellent if you have wifi. like HD quality.
the 3G is impressive if you’re not near a wifi signal, but it’s a battery killer.
"I doubt he could reach [second base]...mostly cuz his fucking arm was in Aybar's nuts." – twistedlogic
Yeah.. I know the feeling
The IPhone battery might as well be a AA. If Im on my 3GS for like 3.5-4 hours it goes from 100% to 0% (without WiFi, which is most of the time).

iound turning off wifi and bluetooth helps a ton
if i know i’m not going to be using either.
it’s a pain, b/c it’s 3 keystrokes for each. but it helps.

reading now what folks said below
it’s true that MLB.tv blackout rules apply.
it’s basically an MLB.tv app for the iphone
"I doubt he could reach [second base]...mostly cuz his fucking arm was in Aybar's nuts." – twistedlogic
i believe there’s an mlb radio iphone app, not sure about mlb.tv. they need to release an app for android damn it.
Bruce Springsteen rules.
i could be wrong
Someone told me the MLB At Bat App for iphone will allow you to watch games on the iPhone, as long as you are in an area that game is not on TV. So if you are out side of the Baltimore/DC area, you can watch the games on the iphone, otherwise you can only watch on TV. I imagine that feature wont happen until the regualar season begins
back in the day
I had a program for Windows Mobile called “”http://www.mobiletopsoft.com/pocket-pc/download-live-baseball-browser-2006-1-1-7.html" >Live Baseball Browser" that let me watch mlb.tv games on my PPC6700. This was 2006,and it only lasted a few months before MLB killed it, since it was unlicensed or whatever. Now, four years later, we finally have a program that offers similar functionality. Yay progress!@
Sorry for the above dumb question in advance
I just dont have my phone on me at work to check in the app store right now and wanted to know if anyone knew off hand.
Also, a review if anyone has tried it out would be awesome.
Thanks,
That Luke Scott
he has no clue how to play first base. This is obvious to all of us. Dude can’t even act as a cut-off man.
Bedard says he doesn't care and thinks goals are pointless.
Well, to be fair
The throw home probably translates better from his outfield days than do a lot of the other skills required at first.
i'm going to write on roch and steve's blogs
“how can we b xpected 2 compete in al east when owr starters only go 2.2 IP???? Screw u andrew!!!”
No, no I’m not.
Wow you can't make this shit up
On the radio, some Dick Vitale impersonator is advertising vasectomies from Chesapeake Urology. His recovery advice? Sit back on the recliner with a frozen bag of peas and watch March Madness.
The parallel did occur to me
But at the end of the commercial, they made a point to say “impersonated celebrity voice is impersonated.”
KOJI! KOJI!

lol, Luke is so philosophical
Sometimes you’re completely prepared and things don’t go the way they’re supposed to. It happens in baseball and life.

Yay!
My gameday audio is working in the office today. Maybe last week was just a fluke.

This Hinckley guy is having a rough ST.
On the plus side, Koji and Wilfrido Perez both had solid outings.
Weaver's Fourth Law: Your most precious possessions on offense are your twenty-seven outs.
Brian Matusz with 10 Ks in 4 innings
I’ll take a 22.5 K/9. That’s acceptable.

I'll also take the K/BB ratio.
10/0 = undefined

ahhh, the null set

quit
Annually in the US, $75 Billion worth of food is discarded, and most of it is either recently expired or just thrown out because it spent an entire day under a heat lamp. You could easily forage dumpsters for all the food you need. So quit your job, live in a box, dumpster-dive, and enjoy uninterrupted Orioles baseball.
