Matusz doesn't seem like he's on today

He’s clearly following Millwood’s lead

Strikeouts are facist

Also, they can get your pitch count way up too early in the game.

How has Tatum looked so far?

whys that?

by Andrew_G on Mar 8, 2010 1:24 PM EST up reply actions

He's young, cheap and a plus defender

And he’s on the 40-man. If Tatum doesn’t make the team, he will almost certainly be passed through waivers. Meanwhile, Chad is good with the pitchers, I suppose, but he’s not a plus defender nor much of a bat, so what exactly does he bring to the table?

I'll bet it is worth every penny...

…of the $400,000 more the O’s would have to pay Moeller than Tatum.

Not that I care about saving them money, exactly, but I’ll take a commission if someone from the team reads this and decides to pick Tatum over Chad.

by James F on Mar 8, 2010 3:17 PM EST up reply actions

I'm pretty sure

that the Os are paying Moeller 2 mill. Now maybe some of that came in a buyout, but I would assume the package for this year will be more than an extra 400,000. I’m hoping Moeller can help Wieters with pitch-calling and then next year we have Tatum backing up

by OsandRoyals on Mar 8, 2010 3:47 PM EST up reply actions

Hmmmm

Cot’s has Moeller at $800,000 if he makes the team.

I don’t see any way that we keep Tatum on the 40-man if he’s not in the majors.

Baseball app

Are there any good baseball apps to WATCH the games from the IPhone? MLBtv etc?

by Wieters Wieners on Mar 8, 2010 1:59 PM EST reply actions

No... just in general.

I havent had a chance to do much research on it. I know we avoid lame ‘google-type’ questions here, but I just wanted to know if there were any in particular you guys used and liked.

by Wieters Wieners on Mar 8, 2010 2:03 PM EST up reply actions

YES.

At Bat provides video all season and it’s very impressive.

but you have to have an MLB.tv membership to make it work. $19/month.

very good in 3G,

excellent if you have wifi. like HD quality.

the 3G is impressive if you’re not near a wifi signal, but it’s a battery killer.

Yeah.. I know the feeling

The IPhone battery might as well be a AA. If Im on my 3GS for like 3.5-4 hours it goes from 100% to 0% (without WiFi, which is most of the time).

iound turning off wifi and bluetooth helps a ton

if i know i’m not going to be using either.

it’s a pain, b/c it’s 3 keystrokes for each. but it helps.

i could be wrong

Someone told me the MLB At Bat App for iphone will allow you to watch games on the iPhone, as long as you are in an area that game is not on TV. So if you are out side of the Baltimore/DC area, you can watch the games on the iphone, otherwise you can only watch on TV. I imagine that feature wont happen until the regualar season begins

by brek on Mar 8, 2010 2:05 PM EST up reply actions

back in the day

I had a program for Windows Mobile called “”http://www.mobiletopsoft.com/pocket-pc/download-live-baseball-browser-2006-1-1-7.html" >Live Baseball Browser" that let me watch mlb.tv games on my PPC6700. This was 2006,and it only lasted a few months before MLB killed it, since it was unlicensed or whatever. Now, four years later, we finally have a program that offers similar functionality. Yay progress!@

Sorry for the above dumb question in advance

I just dont have my phone on me at work to check in the app store right now and wanted to know if anyone knew off hand.

Also, a review if anyone has tried it out would be awesome.

Thanks,

Annually in the US, $75 Billion worth of food is discarded, and most of it is either recently expired or just thrown out because it spent an entire day under a heat lamp. You could easily forage dumpsters for all the food you need. So quit your job, live in a box, dumpster-dive, and enjoy uninterrupted Orioles baseball.
