I'm a Mariners fan visiting from my home blog of Lookout Landing to ask for some advice regarding Camden Yards. I apologize in advance if I accidentally violate any rules or norms you follow over here.
I currently live in DC and am planning on going up to Camden Yards for the M's-O's games on May 11, 12 and 13. I know it's a ways away, but I don't get to go to very many M's games, so I'm planning in advance. Lookout Landing is currently running a series on advice about going to games at Safeco (and if you're ever going to go through Seattle you should go read it, it's pretty good). That gave me the idea to come over here and ask the readers here about watching a game in Camden.I'll be taking the Mark train up from DC. There is also a shuttle that travels back after the game. So travel and parking aren't an issue (and coming from the transportationally challenged Seattle, that's a statement I'm so grateful to say).
I'm mostly curious about the tickets themselves. Location and price. The 11th and 12th are evening games and the 13th is a day game.
Bleachers? infield? What about pricing? Should I buy the tickets online? are there package deals you recommend?
I know that crowds have been pretty small across baseball and am wondering if this is resulting in some pretty good deals. Especially for games in the middle of the week.
I don't like the idea of buying bleacher seats and trying to sneak into 'better' seats. So I'd like to buy the seats for wherever I end up sitting.
Also: food. What food to I have to get at the game? Are there other things I should experience in and around Camden?
I've heard consistently amazing things about the park so I'm excited. Thanks in advance for any tips.
