I haven't been on for awhile
Is the community consensus still that Dave Trembley has to be manager for life?
In a word,
No.

'Course not. But Crow is Batting Coach for LIfe and Garrett Atkins should GET life
"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Churchill,1942-- a rebuilding year.
I wouldn't mind seeing him in a bad movie with Eddie Murphy...
better than seeing him in an O’s uniform anymore.
Just because you know how to read, doesn't mean you'll like the book.

we're back in business
I think Trembley just had his Perlozzo moment
I know we probably won’t fire him mid-series but I see no need for him to travel with the team back to Baltimore.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Chicken or the egg
Do we have a terrible bullpen because we have terrible relief pitchers or because DT manage them ineptly? Losing Koji and Gonzales (the Gonzales of prior years) is not DT’s fault. But, I am not a fan of the excessive match up strategy. Matching up so many times means that he is sorting through his bullpen to find the pitcher who is ready to throw balls or home run pitches.
what people fail to realize here is that it doesn't matter how DT manages the bullpen
They will all inevitably fail because that’s just what they do. Looking through the game logs, he’s actually tried a bunch of different methods of calling in his relievers.
These guys will stink no matter in what order, who they face, their matchup, etc.
Go ahead, can DT, then can the rest of these losers; too bad that MLB has guaranteed contracts. These losers don’t deserve a penny of what they’re paid.
They will all inevitably fail
You will have to remind me exactly when Hendo and Berkens have failed when called upon. Maybe that will help me understand why they haven’t been given a shot at the end of games to hold leads.
There's no way to prove it
But if Berken or Hendo were put in Albers spot, they probably would have given up the runs too.
We here the same shpiel every year our bullpen has sucked. Some unfortunate sap like yourself thinks we actually have a few diamonds in our bullpen. But we don’t – that’s an important element of our sucking. Even the ones with the lowest ERAs or WHIPs will give up their relatively fewer runs in the most inopportune times.
There’s a lot of evidence on that one.
of course it matters
you can argue all you want that it makes no difference. but putting in the reliever with the highest ERA on the team who blew it the night before at the crucial point in the game just boggles the mind.
as does his constantly taking out guys who ARE having a good night in his obsession with matchups.

did you just post this AFTER today's game?
That’d be pretty baffling if you did..
Why would it be baffling?
He left JJ longer then he should, and Claw saved his ass from screwing up the BP again.
In one game as a freshman at Miami, Wieters hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to put the Yellow Jackets ahead, then pitched the bottom of the ninth for the save. On that day, the God nickname was bestowed. - Sports Illustrated

why, did he use Albers today?
I didn’t see the whole game today.

It sure helps to have talent.
I turned the game off as soon as Matusz was pulled. Albers has been sukcing it up. Perhaps try Berken or Hendo instead of Albers yet again. Who knows what will happen.
Problem is, this same thing happens to every Orioles manager. The team spirals into losing due to lack of talent and he’s an automatic bum. Trembley has his faults, but the team’s are bigger. As a whole, they still suck.
