Twins 6, Orioles 1: Win some, lose some
Scott Baker shut the O's down tonight in the way we all expected Francisco Liriano to do this afternoon. The only blemish was a Luke Scott home run and poor Kevin Millwood is still without a win this year. Millwood pitched 7 innings allowing 3 runs, much like he has many times this year. Mark Hendrickson, Matt Albers, and Adam Jones who was playing way too shallow were to blame for the other three.
Tomorrow the O's try to win the series behind Brian Matusz. I like our chances.

So this game sucked
but hell, we took the first one unexpectedly. I’m pretty sure I would have taken 2-2 if you offerd it to me before the series, and we still have Brian pitching tomorrow. I’ll take it.

Not only was he playing too shallow
but he misread the ball and took a horrible route. Suckass.
Rub some $100 bills on it, you sell-out. -duck
do they give him the green light to play shallow because he won a gold glove?
hasn’t he been asked to play deeper?

Millwood Guts-ed, O's lose.
KM: So, Jeremy, I have a 3.26 ERA over 7 starts and guess how many wins…
JG: Welcome to the club. Actually, it’s YOUR club now, since I surged ahead this afternoon by recording one of those, what’re they called again— oh yeah, a “win.”
KM: What’s your secret for not murdering the dirtbags who show up at the park, put on Oriole uniforms and then don’t score you any f#cking runs, again and again and again, as though their job was to collect enormous paychecks and, y’know, play defense or something…
JG: Z-z-z-z-z-z…Oh, sorry Kev, I must’ve dozed off there. It’s just that, well, it’s kind of an Old Story, see, almost like a bedtime thing: “And then the Orioles hitters went to sleep…”
KM: Yeah, very funny— but look, you know the ESPN site’s 2010 projection for me? 0-22. How funny is that?
JG: Z-z-z-z-z-z-z….

This just in: NYT-- "Red Sox Nation Grumbles Like an Entitled Empire" Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/08/sports/baseball/08boston.html?src=me&ref=homepage
“So after a sweep last weekend by the lowly Baltimore Orioles (4-2 versus the Red Sox; 4-19 against everyone else), it was open season on the Sox, and it was sort of exhilarating.
[…]
“Check out the online fury that follows every Sox loss these days: the perfervid denunciations of "Big Floppy," David Ortiz (D.H. stands for "doesn’t hit"), and Terry "Francoma" and "Nancy" Drew and Marco "Scatterthrow"; the wilting attacks on General Manager Theo Epstein (better known these days as "Boy Genius"); the indignant vows to give up and watch the Bruins or wait for the Patriots (training camp is only 10 weeks away).
[…]
“This season we real Red Sox fans, the ones old enough to remember Tom Yawkey and Pinky Higgins and Pumpsie Green, will once more turn off our televisions in disgust in the fifth inning, only to sneak a peak in the ninth — when we will get steamed up all over again. But high dudgeon is, after all, a high. What’s more satisfying than martyrdom?”

What I took from that:
The “truest” Red Sox fans only watch half the game and only do so because they like to be able to bitch and be all “woe is me”. It amounts to baseball munchausen syndrome.

Hard to believe in retrospect, but I actually felt sorry for these people for decades. FELT SORRY. Now I join the world in loathing them.
Can you imagine Cub fans becoming total douchebags under parallel circumstances? Me neither.

Cubs fans are already douche bags
Sometimes I just want to talk about beer, blowjobs and baseball, y’know? -2632
What a funny typo! You wrote "Cubs" instead of "Mets"!!
Mets fans are probably the single biggest bunch of douchebags in NPL fandom (edging out Phillies fans in a close and desperate struggle, I admit). No surprise there, of course: hey, Mets fans are Knicks fans outdoors.
