Trembley moves Jones out of leadoff spot - baltimoresun.com
Dave Trembley finally ended the "Adam Jones, lead-off hitter" experiment last night. Adam's having a tough, tough start to the season. -duck

Carroll County Times: No worries about winless duo
Jeremy Guthrie did get his first win yesterday, so the headline in today's story is dated, but the CC Times says it ain't the pitching that's the O's problem. -duck

Maggio: Long day at Target Field
"8:52 a.m. – Only Orioles MLB.com writer Brittany Ghiroli and FOX Sports North personality/Star Tribune columnist Jim Souhan are in the press box." So you want to be a MLB writer, do you? -duck

Durango Herald News: 'The Oriole Way' has lost its bearings
It's AP article a few days old, but I never managed to clip. David Ginsburg reflects upon the fact Baltimore used to be a unwelcome destination for opposing teams, now it's treated like a vacation stop where you pick up a few wins in the gift store while staying. -duck

IN THE MINORSNorfolk lost 10-3 despite Corey Patterson going 3-for-4 with 3 doubles, Bowie lost 4-3 as Tim Bascom went 6.0 IP, gave up 2 runs and had 8 K's against 0 walks, Frederick lost 2-1 as the Keys managed just 2 hits on the night while Cole McCurry gave up just 2 runs (1 earned) in 6.0 IP with 5 K's and 0 BBs, and Delmarva won 4-2 without help from Garabez Rosa, who went 3-for-4 for the Shorebirds, yet didn't have an RBI or a run scored. No one else on the team had more than one hit. That's odd. Jesse Beal pitched 7.0 innings and gave up 2 ER on 5 hits and 2 BBs with 4 K's.

That is just one reason to watch the game.

I can’t remember who did it last year.

Also. this year’s Fourth of July weekend will feature white hats, with colored brims, and the “Spangled” logos that we’ve seen the last two years.

Yeah. I always heard

That the song that gets stuck in your head is the one you’ve heard the most recently. And to get rid of it, listen to the song, and then listen to a new one.

The sample sizes are quite small

But I must admit, I find the Orioles minors a bit disconcerting. Way too many guys having disappointing starts, especially Erbe, Snyder and Joseph.

Still not a big fan,

but that’s a huge improvement.

Still ugly as sin

I guess it’s better. At least I dont have to see a red cap clash horribly with the orange on the jerseys. That was an ugly perfect storm.

Dallas Braden has retired 24 straight batters going inot the 9th, and has a kinda significant thing going for him.

If you know what I mean.

This is one of those made-for-movie stories

the kid’s mom died of cancer when he was in HS. His grandmother has taken care of him ever since. Now, with his grandmother in attendance, on mother’s day (a day when MLB preaches breast cancer awareness) he pitches a perfect game. It almost seems scripted, except something like that happening in a movie would be so over the top it wouldn’t be believeable.

The grandmother saying that about A-Rod is just the little bit of comic relief the story needed.

I think not.
