"The Orioles have signed 16-year-old Dominican third baseman Hector Veloz for $300,000, according to his trainer, Victor Baez. The bonus is a franchise record for an amateur player signed out of the Dominican Republic and is believed to be a franchise record for all of Latin America. The fact that we've at least split a team that has a good chance at the World Series is pretty refreshing.
It won’t be refreshing however, if that split costs us Rendon.

Sure it will.
Because it tells our young players we’re not quitting on baseball games even if we’re losing by four runs going into the 9th inning. I think that has value that goes beyond racking up a #1 overall draft selection.

I don't even know what happened yet.
I’m about to go investigate. I was at a party last night and after drinking for about, seven hours, I somehow heard Pie had been hurt, but instead of investigating it myself I just sent a panicked email to James F at 3:30 a.m. When I woke up this morning I realized I could have just pulled up Baltimore Sun or something.

Necause the all-star game is Anahiem, home of Disneyland.
They have Mickey statues of all MLB teams throughout Anahiem, and a few in LA. This the O’s version.

That's amazing.
I get the anger over not having any of your phone calls returned & being jilted on national TV… but Gilbert is acting like a psycho ex-girlfriend. If I see a story about him keying LeBron’s car I will not be shocked in the slightest.
He’s actually making LeBron’s self-lovefest look rational. That’s quite a feat.

Her report via cell phone on the Scott Garceau show is annoying as hell. They “ask” her questions that have clearly been rehearsed which prompt her to read off a sheet she’s prepared for the spot. There’s very little spontaneous conversation, just a chick on a cell phone reading notes. Why bother?
