WINTER ALL YEAR LONG?
Hey someone who knows please help me out with this one. Why in god's name does Markakis wear long sleeves under the jersey no matter what the temperature? I mean sure in April and maybe even May, but you can't tell me there is a good reason in mid july where the temps have consistently been 90's plus to wear the sleeves-black none the less.I know it not superstition because he has 5 hr's 31 rbi's in 90 games. Personally I'm guessing he has the interlocking ny on one arm and a Don Mattingly face on the other going back to his childhood in long island ny.
Anyway, if anyone does know the reason please share with this confused fan.

I haven’t noticed this, so I’ll just take your word, but some people actually like it when it’s really hot. I loathe running in the heat, but one of my friends loves running on really hot, humid days.
Maybe it’s some moisture wicking thing like Under Armor Heat Gear. I haven’t had good luck with stuff like that — my preference is that it’s cooler to just skip that layer all together rather than wear some wicking tech shirt, but if Markakis likes them, good for him.
So probably just his personal preference.
This is probably a question that belongs in an Open Thread
and doesnt require its own fanpost.

There is under armor that actually helps keep you cool and absorbs sweat and gets it away from your skin. Lots of people wear it all year round.
Rub some $100 bills on it, you sell-out. -duck
I have a long sleeve mock like that
it’s weird, when I put it on and wave my arms around, my arms actually get cold. But I don’t like the feeling of “compression” fabrics like under armour, so I don’t really wear it.
Maybe he thinks the winter will get here faster if he dresses like it....
I know this baseball season has been completely depressing. Bring on the Caps season.
