Rays 8, Orioles 1: Loss #63
It was another awful night for a young Oriole starter, as Chris Tillman gave up eight runs without making it out of the third inning. He was no match for Wade Davis, who held the Orioles to one run in eight innings and who now has three of his nine career wins against the Orioles.
The only successful group on the Orioles tonight was the bullpen. After Tillman exited with 2 outs in the third inning, Matt Albers, David Hernandez, Koji Uehara, and Alfredo Simon pitched 6.1 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Other than that, it was a sad, sad game.
The Orioles scored their only run in the fifth inning when they were already down 8-0. Scott Moore walked and then scored on a single by Cesar Izturis. At that point the O's had two on and zero out and Felix Pie hit a line drive, unfortunately right at Evan Longoria, who turned it into a double play. That'd be it for the O's offense.
Ugh. Not much else to say. The Orioles will try again tomorrow. Unfortunately they have to try against Matt Garza.

Nipped at the buzzer-- again!
How could we lose, I axe ya, with the fear-inspiring one-two punch of Izturis and Tatum racking up multi-hit nights and a bullpen that simply refused to acknowledge the possibility of a Blown Hold? It just doesn’t figure. Unless you’re sober, of course.
But tonite Da Rayzzz get their just desserts, as a cruel fate sends them out against Jake the Snake— An Oriole Pitcher With a Winning Record. I’ll repeat that for those who may have lowered the volume during our last commercial break: AN ORIOLE PITCHER WITH A WINNING RECORD
Garza shmarza. Go O’s!

I feel bad for these yuts
It is just sad to see these kids out there in an organization that has no direction. I have no clue why the managerial search needs to be on the back burner. Well, clearly I am not in the warehouse so I have no clue what goes on everyday, but I can turn on the TV and see an interim manager. If these kids are going to succeed they need an established direction ASAP. Won’t somebody please think about the children?
