ORIOLES OPTION RHP CHRIS TILLMAN TO TRIPLE-A NORFOLK
The Orioles today announced that they have optioned RHP CHRIS TILLMAN to Triple-A Norfolk.
Tillman, 22, is 1-4 with a 7.92 ERA (25.0IP, 22ER) in six starts with the Orioles this season. He made two starts after being recalled for the second time this season on July 10, going 1-1 with a 7.20 ERA (10.0IP, 8ER), including a victory in which he pitched a career-high 7.1 innings on July 10 at Texas.
A corresponding roster move will be announced prior to tomorrow’s game against Tampa Bay.

Corresponding move will likely be the activation of Gonzalez or Millwood.

but with starting pitching as lousy as it has been, the extent of what a reliever can do is really limited in terms of helping us win

“Tejada was signed to be the third baseman for this ballclub, and Tejada likes to play,” Samuel said. “The times that we’ve been able to have Tejada out of the lineup or DH, we have to talk to him. He earned that right with all he’s done in the game. We are taking that into consideration, that Tejada’s the third baseman, he’s going to play. And the times that we feel like we might need to get him at DH and had Josh Bell in there, that’s what we’ve done. But Tejada has earned the right to play.”
I think it is good that I live far, far away from Camden Yards. Because otherwise, I’d fear for Juan’s safety. Hell, I might anyway. Andy, if you’re reading, this is a good reason to fire him before the team’s next trip to NY.

No matter the manager over the past 10 years, we’ve deferred to vets past their prime.
I know, I was the main cheerleader for Miggi this winter. That’s when he’d had 199 hits last season. He isn’t producing this year. SO REPLACE HIM.
Josh Bell is the future. Miguel Tejada is the past. Miguel had a chance to produce and hasn’t. We don’t owe Miggy a damn thing except a paycheck. If he’s not hitting, SIT HIS ASS.
Why in teh world would you broadcast the fact that it simply doesn’t matter if a player doesn’t produce, he’s going to play anyway just because he’s always played? That is the dumbest damn thing you can do.
That’s why I loved coaching HS wrestling. Freshman, Senior, didn’t matter. First to get a pin or a win is the starter. Doesn’t mean shit what you did last year or last week or last night. Are you still the best TODAY?
Because Miguel Tejada isn’t our best option for the future. He’d not producing, and hasn’t earned the right to play despite not producing.

How is Tillman supposed to get better if he keeps getting jerked around? Christ on a bike. We know he can beat AAA hitting. He knows he can beat AAA hitting. AAA hitters know Christ Tillman can beat them. There’s nothing else for him to learn there. Is it so hard to grasp that young pitchers are gonna get knocked around sometimes?
Who gives a fuck anyway. Wieters can’t hit. Matusz can’t pitch. Tillman can’t pitch. Jones can’t play CF. The Orioles will continue to suck indefinitely. Life goes on.

Plain, unadulterated stupidity. Can we please get some sort of coahing staff that can work with players in the majors? Do we really have to fucking send everyone down to norfolk to get things worked out? At this point, I can’t see the purpose of following this team much longer. They are going to completely mindfuck this kid into the ground. Then they will get to start on Matusz or someone else.
Please fire the entire fucking coaching staff. I have no desire to watch these fuckin idiots continue to jerk around the young kids. You leave young pitchers out there in trouble inning after inning then fucking bail on them without remorse… Great move assholes!
