PRESS RELEASE
July 23, 2010ORIOLES REINSTATE 2B BRIAN ROBERTS FROM 60-DAY DISABLED LIST; INF SCOTT MOORE DESIGNATED FOR ASSIGNMENT
The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated 2B BRIAN ROBERTS from the 60-day disabled list, where he had been since April 10 with an abdominal strain. To make room for Roberts on the roster, the team has designated INF SCOTT MOORE for assignment.
Roberts played in four games for the Orioles this season, going 2-for-14. In three rehab games at Double-A Bowie this week, he went 6-for-14 with two doubles.
Moore batted .209 (18-86) with 10 RBI in 41 games for the Orioles this season.
Sorry, Scotty. But welcome home, Brian. I've missed you so.

I feel like I should be slamming my head
into a wall while muttering “no” constantly.
Oh wait, that’s my general feeling for this year.

I call that one
First time I’ve been right about anything Orioles related
He's the only backup SS right?
They can put Luke at 1st & move Wiggy to third when Miggy needs a day off. But if Izzy needs a break, then the only option is B2B I think. That’s my guess.
Where oh where are you Alex Cintron? Since Andy loves the Cubs so much, why isn’t he looking into Theriot? Castro is the future at SS there, and they’ve been using Fontenot at 2B almost equally. Theriot is a poor man’s B-Rob & would fit nicely atop our lineup. Thoughts?

If it’s just for a few innings here and there put Wigginton or Moore there – who gives a shit? If it’s for anything longer than that (like a DL stint for Izzy) call up Andino.

Seriously
Time was we stuck MelMo in as a backup shortstop. The world doesn’t come to an end over your back-up shortstop. Can it be worse than having Lugo around?
Has there ever been a cooler Oriole than Eddie Murray? I mean, just straight up cool. Like a bad, suave dude. You know what I'm sayin'. COOL. SC 7/24/08

Who gives a flying fuck about that?
He’s old and is 100% worthless going forward, so why not keep the young guy who has a slight chance of not being worthless going forward? It makes zero fucking sense.

GodDAMN have I missed that little guy.

So, sorry for the dumb question, but does Moore go to Norfolk or is eligible to be claimed by another team?
Pretty sure...
someone else can claim him.

Juan got scared
that Roberts might help us out too much, so Markakis is sitting to bring our chances of losing back to the level we’re used to. Can’t be too eager to throw two good hitters out there instead of the usual one…I think we’ll have to ease ourselves into that.

To be fair, Nick has been in a little slump lately (2 for his last 18).
Giving him a night off may be for the better.
Yeah, I realize, I just think it's funny
He literally has not been able to take one day off yet this year because without him our lineup is too much of a laughing stock. It’s funny that they didn’t wait a single game to give Markakis a break from carrying the weight of the entire lineup on his shoulders, and like so many other things is just indicative of our season.

Yeah
He better play tonight, it’s the only game I can watch.
Bring back Tillman.
