Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Blue Jays 9, Orioles 5: Matt Wieters had 2 HR and 2 BB. Some other stuff also happened.

"And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen." Matthew 28: 2-6

Also, the Orioles lost. One miracle at a time.

Both Wieters jacks looked nice

Hope this is a sign of things to come.

And please Nick, don’t be hurt…

Instead of just watching the game, I had it in picture-in-a-picture (which I just realized I have) while we watched “Intervention”, and it kind of occurred to me that I need an intervention for my Oriolesholism.

A passage from Luke may have been more appropriate...

it's a very biblical team when you think about it.

we have a Matthew and a Luke and a Mark. too bad there’s no John, or we’d have all the gospels covered. Maybe AM could pry John Buck away from the JAys.

at least we have our very own James here at cc.

We also have a Peter in charge of everything,

and an Andrew heading the front office.

and yea,

Those on the earth did rejoice and exclaim,
“God is among us great and mighty again,
The lumber of our Lord has regained its thunder.
The sheep shall be laid low by The Wieters.
Though the birds be bowed, the Birdland is not without hope.
This be gained by the courage contained within our beers.
Lamentable may be our Millwoods, our Guts try to stand proud,
The Nicks we gain keep our heads above the tides of B2Bs,
And hope we to again lay our eyes upon our Taters.
In Matt we pray, Amen.”

Seriously, Bergesen has looked like shit this season

When are we going to give up on him? He was never a top prospect, just a nice surprise who was intelligent enough to get hitters who’d never seen him before out; he never really had the stuff though.

If memory serves

Didn’t he miss part of Spring Training after hurting his arm shooting a commercial? Hopefully that is the reason for his struggles this season and he’ll be back to a decent 4/5 starter next year. Although all our guys are looking like 4/5 starters right now.

Well then, if that's the case...

let’s trade them all to Arizona for 5 Dan Harens!
