Hopefully the strong safety play of Zbikowski and Landry can help make up for it. And hopefully Reed doesnt miss too much time because he goes a long way in making up for the shortcomings in the secondary.

I wish there was a way to Have Zbikowski, Landry, and Reed all on the field at the same time. I’m really excited about Zbikowki, from what I saw last year, he has the potential to be our next great ball-hawk. And they are saying he got faster over the off-season which is always good.

There actually is a rule...
… that if a pitcher is ineffective in a brief appearance, he should not be credited with a win, even if the circumstances otherwise say he should. It doesn’t apply to Berken tonight, but really, it kind of should.
Then again...
I looked at the play-by-play more closely. Berken recovered nicely. Glad that Showalter’s gutsy move to leave him in paid off.
