Zach Britton has been added to the list of players attending FanFest next Saturday. He has also been added to the 12:40 time slot at Autograph Station #2, taking the place of Troy Patton, who is now unable to attend. Fans can purchase autograph vouchers for this session at www.orioles.com/fanfest.
The Orioles asked me to pass this on, so if you're hankering to see Zach Britton or get his autograph, you now can. They're really not doing much to convince me that Troy Patton exists.

Further proof
that ‘Troy Patton’ does not actually exist…
Now, Harold, he's a friendly guy. He rambles on and on. He'll talk the balls off a rhino-saurus.~Primus, Harold of the Rocks
or I could have read the entire post and seen that you already wrote something to that effect....
Reading is HARD!

There is no Troy Patton
Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.
there is only zuul?
i think i get it now.

What I'm working on is...
it’s pretty obvious there is no Troy Patton, which makes it equally as obvious that there is a conspiracy in place to try to fool everyone into thinking there IS a Troy Patton (one assumes that the Orioles hired UMBC’s Professor Professorson to head the conspiracy)….but why? What’s the endgame here, and does this conspiracy go straight to the top?
Troy Patton is the Roger Thornhill of the Baltimore Orioles.
Perhaps an attempt to build confidence in MacPhail
Getting five players in return for Tejada is more impressive than four players. But if one of those players doesn’t exist he is surely never going to succeed at the major league level so how does it help him in the long run?
I guess I simply am awash in ignorance of Alfredo Simon. -James F

looks like MacPhail is trying to send us a message
a tiny, thoroughly underwhelming message.
Get 'em.

I'm thinking the whole 'discovery of his long lost sister via facebook' was a ploy now.
Not sure why Justin Timberlake got involved. Unfortunately he does exist.
If you look at those UZR ratings or whatever
I'm I off my ROCKER with this or what?!?!?!?
They don’t want to hit bombs yet…They want to be a contact-doubles machine putting opposing pitchers in jams as frequently as possible and making SP’s & RP’s work. Former New York Mets manager and New York Yankee All-Star Willie Randolph agreed to terms to become the Orioles’ bench coach in 2011, reuniting him with Manager Buck Showalter, the man who gave Randolph his first big league coaching job in 1994, who knows the AL East in and out. These guys are out for blood, I tell you – adding to the possibility of enhancing the accountability factor and overall improvement of the club at the plate and defensively.
The bombs will come in 2012 (see 4th in LINE-UP below) – they have the $$$ saved up & McPhail is gonna spend it). They will attempt to work the count, spray the ball, use team speed, maximize an alternating S-R-L linep while emphasing good defensive play to make their young pitching staff more confident as the season rolls along – letting their young pitchers evolve (yet regress at times) albeit gaining diligence, work ethic, attitude and demeanor (Britton included – 5th in rotation eventually as a top prospect call-up).
LINE-UP:
1st – Roberts 2B (S)
2nd – Jones CF®
3(3)rd – Markakis RF (L)
4th – Lee 1B® (PRINCE FIELDER IN 2012!!!)
5th – Scott DH (L)
6th – Reynolds 3B®
7th – Wieters C (S)
8th – Hardy SS®
9th – Pie LF (L)
This team is shaping up like the Rays a few years back. They just need an Ace – #1 SP in the staff to step to the forefront.
