Where would Jake Fox fit in?
I dont see there being a possibility that Jake Fox can make this roster. Unless by some chance Craig Tatum blows up in spring training, or Fox has a sudden surge defensively at third base, Fox just simply doesnt make this team. The O's are still looking for a backup third baseman. Which is between Robert Andino, Brendan Harris, and Jake Fox. (Last time I checked Cesar Izturis isnt too familiar there) Maybe they sign someone else but with Jorge Cantu off the board the other options dont look that strong. Personally I like Harris. He can hit better than Andino and is probably a better defender than both. Jake Fox might give you the most "pop", but his B.A. will most likely be lower than both Andino and Harris, not to mention his defense isnt too sharp. Anyone got any comments or opinions on Jake Fox or the battle for backup 3B behind Mark Reynolds?

Yea
Fox is a better bat to have on the bench than Tater. It isn’t like we’d be making a defensive sub for Wieters anyway. As long as Fox can resemble a ML catcher behind the plate once or twice a week, i’d be down with him as the backup.
Also, “backup 3rd baseman” isn’t something i’m partcularly worried about. I’m sure whatever MI guy is on the bench (Harris, Dino, Izzy…) could hold it down for a game or two, and if it’s a longer span they could always call Bell back up.

The bench will come into focus
if and when the Vlad saga gets played out. If Vlad is signed, I believe Fox time is limited. No Vlad would make me think that Fox gets the utility role (plus third catcher) that Wiggy held down last year.
