Jeremy Guthrie on Buck Showalter electing to stay manager rather than become GM: "I could see him enjoying the role of the front office and having those decisions to make. And, at the same time, I know how much he loves being on the field and helping the ballclub try to win night in and night out. So I could see it going both ways."

I hope all the Jewish CC'ers had a good fast!
Note: do force yourself to eat dinner before a 26 hour fast…
Contrary to popular belief, I am not Jewish.
Not bad.
I don’t mind the fasting much. Being in shul all day does take your mind off food.
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Vlad is good.
Well, I was stupid enough to eat an entire frozen pizza at 1:30
So by the time dinner came around at 4:30 (had to get to Kol Nidre by 6:15), I wasn’t hungry in the slightest. So I went more like 31 hours without eating. Not fun. And it was the first year I didn’t secretly break my fast at 3:30. So it was very painful. I could barely stand for all of Neilah.
Contrary to popular belief, I am not Jewish.
There are varying opinions on whether you have to stand for all Neilah.
Even though the Aron is open.
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Vlad is good.
I was completely unaware that there were any Jewish CCers
Is anyone else shocked by this?

None of the Jews here ever told me they were Jewish!

Plus, we're freakin goombas, man.
We have little tiny-ass legs and have to waddle around while getting continually squashed. It takes a long time to tour the facilities at that pace.

Wait, there are Jewish CC'ers?!?
Oh yeah. But I thought she’d decided to get into college ‘n’ stuff. Anyway, Titov’s Tip One-A: Make sure that last-before-sundown-dinner is as high-carb as your particular tradition allows.
We still suck, but on Sept. 29, 2011, we did a Very Cool Thing. Yeah, we did that.

They showed a graphic with the rule in the clip.
The ball is considered down where the “penalty” occurred.

the rule also says "egregious" taunting
if that’s egregious, i can’t imagine what non-egregious taunting looks like
In Rob Neyer We Trust

Tommy hunter still sucks!
College football, man.

Two funny things
1. From the clip comments: “What was so badass about this punter is that IT WASN’T A FAKE PUNT! This guy just noticed that NOBODY rushed him at all and decided to make a run for it. Dude is a freaking mountain of badassery.”
The first is apparently true— AP: “Miles said he did not call a fake but said Wing made the right call to run when he saw Florida’s coverage team retreating.” And he adj. badassery rocks.
2. The FLA coach is a douchebag: "We had two guys assigned to the punter," Muschamp said. "They didn’t do their jobs. They were assigned to the punter and they did what they wanted to do.
"Those guys aren’t going to play for our program anymore. Guys that just do what they do when they want to do it. That’s undisciplined football and that’s coaching. It’s my fault."
If it’s YOUR fault, coach, shouldn’t YOU lose your job— instead of the two players whom you evidently coached inadequately? Seems like it’s gotta be one or the other…
We still suck, but on Sept. 29, 2011, we did a Very Cool Thing. Yeah, we did that.

hahaha, i like that. Overpaid douche.

Wow. I was expecting some kind of Kenny Powers type taunting
That being called a penalty is ridiculous.
you didn't tell me this wasn't safe for work, jerks
that kind of taunting will get me fired, you know.
