Too much rich brew at the DogfishHead Saloon, duck?

Oh, that was just the first of 3 bars last night.

Not a fan of craft beers
I don’t want beer to taste like anything, and theirs does, for obvious reasons. I did much better at the next place with two well-mixed screwdrivers. I don’t really remember the last place, but apparently there was a 3rd.I got a nice walking tour of Rehoboth bars.
And DFH Saloon was BEYOND packed last night when we showed up. Live music on a Saturday in December at a beach place to a full capacity crowd? That’s when you know people like your product.

This statement is just wrong.

The O’s have signed 18-year old catcher Kelvin Mena from the Dominican Republic [via Roch]
I'd put it this way; if an offense is a sugar cookie, on base percentage is the pastry part of the cookie, power is the icing, and baserunning is like the jimmies that they sprinkle onto the icing. - Bill James
I tend not to noticed signings of 18 year old IFAs in the DR. It makes you wonder why no one had picked up on them for two years.
I mostly posted it to show how nothing news there is. Even Roch couldn't find any details
on this kid.

There is nothing out there.
MASN, The Sun, Fangraphs, THT, Yahoo, ESPN. The only thing I found was the abpve blurb from Roch.

Late to the party...
In case anyone is chomping at the bit…I posted my thoughts on the Teagarden and Eveland deals yesterday.

i thought about going that way
but chicago has two major injuries, i think – QB and RB. and how can you bet against Tebow at home at this point? That’d be like betting against Moses while he’s ON the mountain.

TB/JAC discrepancies I understand. But didn’t expect to see such diverse opinions on MIA/PHI

I have about 2-3 games of different picks with everyone in front of me.
If I have a nice week, could pick up a few games on the leaders.

So the concert at Sonar last night was pretty awesome
The inside of the club was nice, cozy, had places to sit down and still see the stage clearly (I’m too old to stand in the pit for 4 hours any more), and because it was winter it wasn’t hot (it was actually a tad bit cold on my legs). There were probably about 300 people there and it was a very good crowd. Kinda eclectic too, a mix of metal heads, gothy folks, weeaboos, and just random folks.
I also got to get pictures with the Birthday Massacre after the show. They hung around the merchandise booth, taking pictures, signing things, and being awesome.
The men’s bathroom, however, was pretty gross. I had to go as soon as I got into the club (about 30 minutes after they opened the doors) and one of the toilets was already clogged.
I was at Sonar once to see Yo La Tengo. My girlfriend at the time wound up fainting without a drop of alcohol in her. Many folks gave me a weird look as I carried her out of the place.
Yo La Tengo was playing?
I would have left my girlfriend and listened to the band.

White person who wants to be Japanese

Yes
Weeaboo, as the term for it, came about from 4chan using a filter to replace “wapanese” with a nonsense word from a Perry Bible Fellowship comic. The replacement term became more popular.
Specifically
It means a white person who insists that Japan is better in all ways than wherever they live. If talking about anime, they’ll use the Japanese name instead of the English one, or complain about how a term is translated to English instead of being left in Japanese (even if in the original Japanese, the term is actually just a Japanese word so that the original audience would hear the word as a word instead of a made up name or whatever).
The more you know.

Felix Pie is an Indian
Minor league deal, per Dan Connolly.
If you look at those UZR ratings or whatever
For some reason
I read that as you proclaiming that Dan Connolly mistakenly thought Felix Pie was from India.
