OT: Titov-Las Vegas! NCAA Bowl Games, Week 2: Back to liquidity!
Welp, our Week 1 was a weak one, all right, with a measly 3-4 record to show for all the intense analysis and late-into-the-night strategizing – OK, the intense elbow bending and deep-into-the-stein chugging that well-lubricated dart throwers everywhere view as the trademarks of their craft. Or something.
The rest of Dec. features a string of Also-Ran Bowls pitting teams which occasionally soared to the heights of Sort of OK-ness this year before ultimately crapping out, to the disappointment of a select audience of alumni and team members’ families – who now get to observe them one last time, largely undisturbed by the general public, in meaningless TV events. Which are sometimes fun/revealing/instructive/like that.
OK, same deal as before: All bets are straight-up except for PAC 12 games, where the spread rules (and sanity often gets to take a breather). Get ‘em.

I know, I know -- sorry I'm late w/ this. My parents' desktop got a virus & I couldn't post from the laptop w/o WiFi
And the dog ate my homework. Anyway, quit whining— it’s not like you couldn’t figure Dec 26-28 w/o me.
Speaking o’ which: Cal flubbed a nice opportunity to convince me (and others) that they’d turned the corner w/ Maynard. Better forget him next yr— seriously. All told, an unimpressive game on both sides, w/ Brown, the $5 million Dollar Coach, looking like he’s got a lot o’ work to do to keep drawing them bi-i-i-ig checks.
Toledo-AF, on the other hand, was a great watch, and just what a Mediocrity Bowl should be: an equal match-up, hard/enthusiastic play, a showcase for several legit talents, big plays throughout, suspenseful ending, thrill o’ victory/agony o’ defeat. Oh, and guessing it right doesn’t hurt!
We still suck, but on Sept. 29, 2011, we did a Very Cool Thing. Yeah, we did that.
Basketball game breaks out at Alamo Bowl: Baylor 67 U Dub 56
“Washington quarterback Keith Price outplayed his Heisman counterpart, going 23 for 27 with 438 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for another three scores.
‘I think we’ll have a hard time this bowl season to see a quarterback play as well as he did,’ Washington coach Steve Sarkisian.
Griffin had an unremarkable night, throwing just one touchdown pass and running for another. But Terrance Ganaway starred ably in his place, rushing for 200 yards and five touchdowns. His last was a 43-yard run with 2:28 left to seal Baylor’s first 10-win season since 1980."

If I weren't a UW student
I would have hated this game. SOME defense would be nice to see. I normally turn off these games but when your school has a chance to embarrass the #12 team in the country, you kinda have to keep watching.
I’m fairly certain I could have played CB in that game and not done worse.
I feel bad for Price in one sense: if he'd had even a low-end mediocre defense playing behind him
U Dub woulda won by 3 scores or sth— and this game would be remembered as the Keith Price Miracle or the like.

and on that note...
UW just fired their defensive coordinator and a few other defensive coaches. I would imagine more on the way.
So long, Mr. Awesome

With the exception of A&M
I’m going all underdogs today. UCLA, Cincy, Utah, and UVA.
I don’t have much tolerance for stupid. Or cheese on food that doesn’t need it. -duck
I assume the UVA call is in an Alumni Gotta

But...but...are you aware that AUB represents The Greatest Conference In The History Of Football Conferences Bar None?!?
Betting against the Sucking Eggs Conference — now that’s some balls, right there

Yea...it's probably dumb
But Auburn’s defense is a sieve and their top RB is suspended.

Done!
All credit to the Utes, victimized at least twice by no-call PI’s. They came back and did it.
Meanwhile, stop the presses: UCLA runs around looking bewildered in the Interim Coaches Bowl. Just awful. Next time make SURE it’s a Papal Dispensation or they don’t play, period.
