My contribution to the contest is one that I think would make the team fun to watch and if everything goes right would make us competitive to boot. But first a does of reality via Webster....

LINEUP CHANGES:

I am not a big fan of Chris Davis, therefore my first order of business is to package him with Guts and another low-level/under-preforming prospect (Givens?) to bring in a guy I would love to see man first base, Yonder Alonso (I can FEEL the "Into the Wild Blue Yonder" meme being formed after every HR he hits...) and another sleeper pitching prospect like Sulbaran. With Alonso at first base I would slot Reynolds into 3rd hoping last year was more nightmare than reality. This is pretty much the only move I make in terms of the lineup, and while I would shop Jones I would think that they won't get enough to actually move him and will wait to extend him. I would also non-tender Scott and bring him back on a cheaper deal to serve as DH and OF depth.

PITCHING CHANGES:

Well, now is the time we get to the sad part of my post. I am thrilled to have Yonder but it cost us our best pitcher, and how do we replace him? Well as much as I would love to give Wilson a ton of money to come here I just can't do it... so I will throw the O's into the Oswalt sweepstakes giving him 2 years and $25 million dollars. To fill out the rest of the rotation I am going to offer 1 year incentive laden low risk contracts to Brandon Webb for $1-1.5 million that could raise to $3 million with performance bonuses and move Old Yound JJ into the rotation from the pen. In the bullpen I am also adding Zumaya hoping he can bounce back with a 1 year $2million dollar offer.
