I tried to post this on my MD site but it was deleted as it wasnt related to MD.... this might not be related to the Orioles but its about fans in general. I think its something we all can relate to and understand .... whether its baseball, basketball, football... you name it. Anytime there is an extreme rivalry. We have all been to the Orioles vs. Red sox or Yankees series where their fans consume our stadium and fights break out religiously. Its a shame that this happens so often. I have never seen it take to such an extreme.
I am referring to the Giants vs. Dodgers game where the man was beaten into a coma. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I hope that whoever is responsible for this is caught and they receive 10 fold in prison.
My second thought is that I am glad the Giants are matching the reward for their aprehension, the silent auction, and everything else that they are doing for the family. I hope that more people reach our to help the family as they recover through rehab.
My third thought is Skip Bayless is an idiot. There is no reason that fans from the oposing team cannot wear their teams jersey to the game that they pay money to see. I am from MD, lived in Baltimore for 3 years, and am a Skins fan. I wore my Sean Taylor jersey every Sunday in Federal Hill, often at Mothers. Yes I caught some bantering and got in one fight over the jersey ... maybe I shouldnt have worn the jersey... or maybe people should grow up and realize that its more then ok to say an oposing team sucks and banter... but leave it at that. There is no reason to bring it to the "You know the difference between Ed Reed and Sean Taylor... Ed would have caught the bullets" the weekend after Sean was shot. People need to grow up and realize its just a game.
OH AND HOW ABOUT THOSE ORIOLES??????? Already brought out the broom once this season... lets keep the sweeping motion up. Much love to MOTHERS and PICKLES.... see you in a few months when im back in town.
