Aug. 17--WORST ORIOLE FAN DAY I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED
It's quite bad out there. I've been an O's fan since the summer of 1994. The Matusz story this season--of injury, then ineptitude, then minor league revival... culminating with a HORRIFIC start today pointing to his utter doom is the grain of sand that embodies the Orioles season. It has been among the worst of the bad seasons since the Orioles started uber sucking 14 years ago... perhaps the worst because the expectations were so high. The 2002 season sucked violently, with Marty Cordova and David Segui and others in the mix... but we knew it would suck. The 2011 team had some hype to it.
When we look back at the scrap of this season, I think we have to commend Andy McFail for being able to trade for the AL's best hitting shortstop for Jim Hoey. That was a pretty damn good trade. ReynoldsforHernandez was about even money because the dude can't field at Third. (But Hernandez will never be top notch with his bad walk ratios). If we had pushed him to first, where he seems to be adequate, that would have been good. Signing Lee and Guerrero, that was profoundly idiotic. Signing no starting pitchers, bringing up Britton, eliminating the Dominican farm team, that was suicidal. On a very good team, Adam Jones would be hitting 6th or 7th, and Wieters 8th. Markakis makes sense as a #2 hitter, but what happened to the walks, and what happened to the fricking doubles?

Matusz is DONE!
I don’t he’ll ever be the same player he was last year. He had surgery to repair his obliques, which is used when pitching. He lost a lot of velocity, he is done.
I thought he did?
Well either way, he did have big problems with his oblique and he still lost velocity as a result. I think his MLB career is not coming back anytime soon. Such a shame, he was a good prospect.

Too bad you didn't go to last night's game (Aug. 20)
It might have made your head explode.
Everyone has a game they attended where they decided they absolutely hate this team.
Mine was Koji giving up a 3-run go ahead homer to A-Rod last year at Camden.
I wanted to hang myself becaue I had been taunting all the Yanks fans while we had the lead for 8 innings. You can’t imagine the shit I took when A-Rod hit that ball. It was about 10-15 minutes of 100 people point, laughing and mocking me.

at Camden.
sigh…
WW: My two best experiences were the complete reverse against the Sox. 100s of them around me and my friend in the good seats (behind vistors dugout). O’s walked off both games and I lit into all the northern Virginians for all I am worth. Awesome.

oh god…I was there too.
Damn it feels good to be a contributor, Music City Miracles.
