Norfolk had the day off.

Bowie crushed Akron 9-1 as Oliver Drake went 5 innings without giving up an earned run on 3 hits and 3 walks, striking out 2 and posting a GB/FB of 7/7.  Xavier Avery went 0-4 with a walk and 2 Ks.  Greg Miclat went 3-4 with a double (!) and a K.  LJ Hoes went 1-5 with a double.  Joe Mahoney went 1-5 with a homer and 2 Ks.  Caleb Joseph went 1-3 with a walk.  Ronnie Welty went 3-4 with a double and a SB.

Frederick shut out Kinston 2-0.  Jonathan Schoop went 0-4 with a K.  Manny Machado went 1-4.  Kipp Schutz went 1-4 with a double and 2 Ks.  Jason Gurka went 1.1 innings striking out 2, walking 1 and allowing a hit.  Randy Henry retired all 5 men he faced, one via the strikeout.

Delmarva lost to Lakewood 4-2.  Johnny Ruettiger went 1-4 with a walk.  Ty Kelly went 1-4 with a K.  Michael Ohlman went 1-3 with a walk and a K. Jake Cowan gave up 4 earned in 5 innings, on six hits and 5 walks while striking out 4 and posting a GB/FB of 5/3.  It's been an interesting year for the 2009 10th rounder, as the 23 year old has posted a K/BB of 71/31 in 71 innings in Aberdeen and Salisbury this year posting an ERA 3.55 combined.

Aberdeen beat Connecticut 7-3.  Glynn Davis went 2-6.  Mychal Givens went 2-5 with a walk.  Joe Velleggia went 1-3 with 2 walks and a K.  Wynston Sawyer went 1-5 with 3 Ks.  Dudley Leonora went 2-5.  Connor Narron DNP.  Tyler Wilson drew the start and gave up 2 earned in 5 innings on 4 hits (2 homers) and no walks while striking out 3 and posting a GB/FB of 7/2.

The GCL Orioles crushed the GCL PHN 9-2.  Tyler Towsend went 1-5 with a homer and a K. Rod Bernadina went 1-5 with 2 Ks.  Eduardo Rodriguez had another nice game, going 3 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 4 and posting a GB/FB of 2/2.

The DSL Orioles and the DSL Brewers were suspended after 3 innings with Orioles trailing 3-1.  Byron Capellan was 0-2 with 2 Ks.  Hector Veloz was 0-1 with a K.
