Game 153: Orioles (63-89) @ Red Sox (87-66), 7:10 p.m.

Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox, Sep 19, 2011 7:10 PM EDT

Shiver me timbers!

Ahoy me hearties! After outslugging th' Sox in today's day game 6-5, the swashbuckling Orioles look t' take game two from the scallywags from Beantown this night.

It'll be a tough go for these landlubbers, as Brian Matusz pitches again' tha' scurvy bilge rat, John Lackey. Both are deservin' of a keelhaulin' for their pathetic seasons, and me heart aches to think of what Matusz coulda been.

Th' season tis good as over for Cap'n Showatler an' his crew, but even again' the hornswaggling Sox they yell, "No quarter!" and hope to raise th' Jolly Roger high in victory.

Aye, 'tis a difficult life, that o' the O's fan. But we splice the mainbrace an' hope to pillage the mangy Sox one more time. Arrrr!

to be fair

Craig Tatum is really, really, really, really terrible, too.

Who on earth sets up behind the plate, thinks, “Gosh, Matusz has a 90 mph meatball with no life,” and then says to himself, “I know! I’ll call for 8 in a row against Lowrie!”

Then, for fun, I’ll ground into a double play my next time up.

Anything else you can do for the Sox, Tatum?

let him pitch until he hits his pitch count. If you are so worried about immediate results then why start him in the first place with the way he’s been pitching. He has no room for error with Buck and at this point of the season that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Well, at the risk of ridicule

I’ve been “clean” for 10 days. Lost $5,000 away on that Os extra inning victory last Thursday against Nova.

Almost puked when the Yanks coughed up that 4-1 lead to lose despite the Os running out every pitcher in the pen.
