That was a really, really great movie. Currently it's my favorite baseball movie of all time, but I did just see it last night. It helped me see that "cheesy, sentimental" moments in movies are distasteful to me only in films that don't manage to grab me emotionally. Since Moneyball managed to touch me in some way, I welcomed what would have been cheesy scenes as wonderful. Great film. I even didn't mind watching at a 300 lb fat guy as a main character. Those old leathery baseball scouts were so well cast. B. Pitt was great.
The film did a great job of concealing that the 2002 A's team still had a lot of stars on it to emphasize the importance of these nobody players, including some great pitchers. Fine with me.
