His hit wasn’t as do-or-die as the doubles by Davis or Reimold double, and the ball he hit probably should’ve been caught…

BUT, he struck that final blow, and he will now always be Robert F. Andino in Boston and we should embrace that like Dino is doing. I will always be grateful to Dino for tonight.

but Reimold is a close second and Davis a close third.

Also, Patton’s performance out of the pen and Wieters’ defense (CS, great plate blocking, incredible play on the Ellsbury ball, great aggressive play on Sloppy’s 1 foot hit) were fucking birdland as hell. Also JJ pitching around that bullshit.

you know what i love about that vidoe

is that the rays didn’t even prep the clubhouse for a party. after longo hits the homer, the camera goes to the clubhouse and the staff are quickly laying down tarp. that’s how spontaneous and surprising the entire evening was.

Reimold said after the game he knew Papelbon was throwing nothing but fastballs.

He just had to connect, which he couldn’t do on the first two pitches. Those really freaked me out, too. I thought he wouldn’t be able to catch up. Lesson learned: never a doubt when the movie is on the line.
