James Shields was amazing tonight, striking out 15 and giving up just two hits and no walks. Unfortunately for him, one of the home runs was an absolutely monster shot by Chris Davis.
Miguel Gonzalez was also awesome, giving up no runs in 6 1/3 innings, and the O's bullpen shut down the lineup for the rest of the night, with Jim Johnson sealing the win with his 51st save of the year.
If the Yankees lose tonight, the Orioles will again be tied for first place. They are currently losing 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th to the Boston Red Sox.
Talk about tonight's game here, as well as the Yankees-Red Sox game, while you wait for my awesome full-length recap.
