Boston Red Sox, you are the worst. Ugh. But whatevs. No need to dwell on that. The O's earned themselves a tremendous victory last night against a pitcher that was performing at the absolute pinnacle of his skills. How, in any way, does that make you view this team going forward into the playoffs?
Also, the A's won again last night. They are now tied with the Rangers going into the last game of the season. Exciting! All the O's need to do to guarantee hosting the Wild Card game is win tonight. Tillman vs. Hellickson are the scheduled starters. Who would you rather see the O's face, either at home or on the road? Looks like the O's would be lined up to send out Joe Saunders...............or possibly Jason Hammel? Lets see what the links du jour tell us!

On this day in 1972, Orioles pitcher Roric Harrison would hit the last HR by a pitcher until interleague play would be instituted 25 years later. In 1974 Frank Robinson would become the 1st black manager in MLB when he was hired by the Cleveland Indians. In 1982 Baltimore would have their hearts broken by the Harvey's wallbangers Brewers, losing the AL East pennant on the last day of the season. Earl Weaver had already announced he would retire at season's end and the Memorial Stadium crowd gave him a most fitting tribute. I'll try and dig up a youtube clip and link in the comments.
