I like a lot of what I've seen this year so far. I have been a dedicated o's fan since 93, and I try to call balls and strikes with what the truth about the team is. Here's my list of good things that I think are solid trends that will last the season:
--Jake Arrieta is now in my eyes an above average pitcher. I'd say he's better now than Guthrie on a good day.
--Adam Jones has better bat speed, and swing control. I think we'll see another boost in his hitting power this year. (maybe decrease in walk rate.)
--Andino plays like an everyday player. Batting avg no lower than .275
--Tommy Hunter is a competent #5 pitcher. He is a guy who can go .500 with a 4.40 era averaging 5 2/3 innings.
--Better coaching is clearly happening. Proven better management at the GM level. (Still need to see how Duquette trades, and signs pricey free agents).
