Happy birthday, Robert Andino!

BALTIMORE, MD - SEPTEMBER 28: Members of the Baltimore Orioles mob Robert Andino #11 after he drove in the winning run to defeat the Boston Red Sox 4-3 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Robert Andino will never be considered a great baseball player. In fact, he has only been given the chance to play because of Brian Roberts' prolonged injury. But Andino has done what he needed to do to earn a place in the hearts of Orioles fans: he kicked the Red Sox ass. His heroics in the last few weeks of the 2011 season is the stuff that folk legends are made of, as the very sight of him now puts Red Sox fans into a cold sweat.

Andino has gotten off to a pretty good start so far this season as well, getting on base at a .350 clip and playing pretty good defense. Second base is his now, at least until Roberts tries to return. And I think 2B is in pretty good hands.

Andino won't be at the game tonight as he traveled after the game to Miami where his wife is going to be having a baby. What a great 28th birthday present!
