The Supremes have made their decision & the individual mandate provision stands 5-4. Personally I don't particularly care for the law, but after seeing what's been allowed to stand in the name of fighting "terror" or "drugs" or any other concept or inaminate object that Congress thinks there needs to be a war on, I can't see how in any way ObamaCare is unconstitutional.
The individual mandate is actually a Republican idea. It goes back to when Richard Nixon was in favour of it as a way to counter Ted Kennedy's "Medicare for all" proposal. It's what Mitt Ronmey implimented at the state level in Mass. And as recently as 1996 it's what Rs were using at the national level to counter the unwieldy mess that was HillaryCare. I know it, you know it, Bob Dole knows it, and the American people know it!
So any R arguing against ObamaCare to the point of calling it unconstitutional is really doing so mostly out of hatred for Obama. Because actually, using the law to force millions of customers is exactly the sort of "big government" the corporatists of this country love. And apparently Chief Justice John Roberts was able to put aside his hatred of Obama (made personal when Obama criticized the Citizens United decision at the SOTU speech with the justices right there in the building) to serve the agenda of his true masters.
Have at it! And remember the communmity guidelines
