Like I'm sure many of you, I foolishly allowed myself to get sucked in that maybe the sum would somehow turn out to be better than all of it's extremely dubious parts. Needless to say, once again we were duped' the O's are quite possibly the worst team in all of MLB, all hings considered - can't hit, pitch, or catch the damn ball, all of the former are killing the only good thing on the team (the bullpen), and there are precious few trading chips in the system at any level.
So what to do? Let's be realistic, there is no point in being buyers, there are far too many gaping holes to fix on this team that one or two acquisitions, no matter how choice, are not going to make a difference. Is it time to put everything, and I do mean everything, including the "untouchables" such as Weiters, Bundy, Machado, Jones, on the table for anyone that will make a good offer? Or do we keep having faith in a system that has only shown itself to be broken down beyond any hope of fixing it in the next five years at least?
Interested in hearing what other O's fans think. Myself, I think we should blow it up and allow Showalter a relatively free hand in getting guys in here that he wants and thinks he can build a competitive team with.
