Sort of an eventful offday yesterday with playoff ticket fever sweeping virtual Birdland. Around the league, the Yankees and A's won again, the Pirates fell below .500 and the Nats clinched a playoff berth, bringing the postseason to Washington for the first time since 1933. O's begin a weekend series against the Red Sox at Fenway tonight with the lovely and talented Miguel Gonzalez on the hill.
