A wild afternoon game in Texas ended with the Rangers on top of the Athletics by a 9-7 score. Travis Blackley was knocked out after one inning pitched, with five runs earned, while Matt Harrison got his 18th win of the season for Texas with a 6 IP, 4 ER effort. Mike Adams gave up 3 runs in the 8th inning to make it interesting, but the Rangers' Koji Uehara ended the threat and Joe Nathan notched his 36th save with a perfect ninth.
The Rangers win means that the Orioles now have a full game lead for the home wild card playoff spot.
