Michael Ohlman - Tim Jacobsen

Wei-Yin Chen and Nolan Reimold rehab. Michael Ohlman continues to rake. And a 2013 draftee makes his debut.

Gwinnett (Braves) 3, Norfolk 4

(LHP) Tsuyoshi Wada finally had a decent start, going 6.1 innings and allowing just 5 hits (1 home run), 2 walks, and 2 earned runs while striking out 6. 10 ground outs to just 2 fly outs is pretty sweet as well. (RHP) Jairo Asencio pitched a perfect 9th by K'ing 3 to notch his 18th Save. Offense was provided by (LF) L.J. Hoes, who went 2-4, (2B) Zelous Wheeler who went 1-4, with 2 RsBI, and ( C ) Chris Snyder who went 2-3, with a HR. Remember Mike Gonzalez? The O's forfeited their 2nd Round draft pick in the '10 draft to sign him. With that selection the Braves took (OF) Todd Cunningham. He went 0-4 tonight and is hitting .286 / .367 / .371 on the season. He was the 9th ranked prospect in the Braves system by coming into the season.

Harrisburg (Nats) 4, Bowie 6

Lotta major league heat in this one. Wei-Yin Chen started his rehab by pitching 5 innings. He allowed 5 hits and 2 walks which resulted in 4 earned runs. He also K'd 5 and picked a runner off 1st. (LHP) Chris Petrini and (RHP) Oliver Drake each pitched 2 perfect innings in relief. Each also K'd 3 in that span. (LF) Nolan Reimold's rehab continued with a 1-4, w/ 1 BB night. He also GIDP'd. (LF) Bryce Harper was held hitless, going 0-3 with 2 Ks, but he did draw 1 BB. ( C ) Caleb Joseph hit his 15th HR and drove in another run via SF. (3B) Ty Kelly was 0-4 w/ an Error, but he did draw 1 BB.

Winston-Salem (White Sox) 7, Frederick 9

(DH) Michael Ohlman is a Man. 3-4, w/ a BB, a Double, a HR, and 4 RsBI on this night. He's hitting a cool .372 / .466 / .686! in June now. This follow a May in which he put up a .353 / .476 / .618 line. Re-donkulous. (3B) Nick Delmonico went 1-5, but K'd thrice. (1B) Christian Walker had an O-fer, going 0-4 with 1 K. (RF) Brenden Webb went 1-4, w/ a Double and 2 Ks. (RHP) Zach Davies had a rather pedestrian start. 5 innings, 5 hits, 4 walks!, and 3 earned runs. He also K'd 4 while inducing 8 groundouts to 3 fly outs.

Delmarva 2, Greensboro (Marlins) 10

(LHP) Josh Hader struggled for a 2nd straight start. This one lasted but 3 innings, where he allowed 6 hits and 5 earned runs. Just 2 Ks to 1 BB. (LHP) Lex Rutledge came on in relief and tossed 3.2 innings. He allowed 3 hits, 2 walks, and 0 runs while K'ing 2 and uncorking 1 WP. Quite night on offense for the Shorebirds. (1B) Creede Simpson went 2-4. (SS) Adrian Marin had an 0-4 night. Both Simpson and Marin committed an Error as well.

Staten Island (Yankees) 4, Aberdeen 1

(LHP) Mitch Horacek was drafted in the 9th round this year and made his professional debut. It didn't go well. 2.2 innings, 5 hits (1 HR), 4 earned runs, 0 walks, and 1 K was his line. He did pick a runner off 1st though. (3B) Hector Veloz had an 0-4 night.

GCL Rays 9, GCL O's 10

16 K's for GCL O's pitching. 20 y/o Curacaoian (LHP) Ronald Schuers had 6 of them over. 2.2 innings of relief. (CF) Andrickson Zorrilla went 0-4, w/ 1 BB. (3B) Ronarsy Ledesma had a 2-5 day, w/ 1 double and 4 RsBI. ( C ) Alex Murphy went 2-2, w/ 2 walks and a SB. He threw out 1 of 4 stole base attempts and committed an Error. New Zealander (1B) Pita Rona went 1-4, w/ a double and 3 RsBI.

DSL O's1 5, DSL Dbacks 1; DSL Cardinals 8, DSL O's2 1

(CF) Alexander Mercedes went 4-4 w/ 3 SBs and 3 Runs. Other than that it was a pretty quite day for the DSL1 Birds. 19 y/o Dominican (RHP) Yanuel Cuevas pitched 6 shutout innings and K'd 5.
