The O's are at 70-59, third place in the AL East (5.5 games back) and 2.5 games out of a wild card spot.
Two off days in a week means there were only five games. The O's went 3-2 during the week, going 1-1 against Tampa Bay and 2-1 against Oakland.
+7, better than last week, but mostly fueled by a ten-run outburst against Oakland on Sunday.
Best Hitter / Worst Hitter
Best Pitcher / Worst Pitcher
This week's award easily goes to Chris Tillman, who pitched eight innings of one-run ball against Oakland. He struck out nine, walked just two, and did not give up a home run. Bud Norris, however, didn't deliver on his end. In 4.2 IP, he gave up nine hits and seven runs. He should get credit for striking out seven batters without walking anyone, though.
Best Batting Eye / Worst Batting Eye
Nick Markakis stopped hacking at the plate and as a result has this week's best batting eye; he swung and missed just 2.9% of the time. Adam Jones, unsurprisingly, continued hacking at the plate, swinging and missing 15.2% of the time.
Davis's Dingers Update
Davis hit a home run, a 3-2 pitch against Jeremy Hellickson at Camden Yards, to move to 46 on the season.
Manny's Doubles Update
Adam Jones "The Power and the Patience" Update
Adam blasted two home runs this week (27) and walked once (14).
The O's can make up some ground in both the division and the wild card race this week. They play three games against Boston, and three against New York before starting a series against Cleveland.
