Week 17 Birds Up, O's Down (29 July - 4 August)

Bud Norris picked up a win in his O's debut. - Patrick Smith

Who's hot and who's not for the Baltimore Orioles

Wei-Yin Chen Upnew_medium His last three starts have been almost identical and all have put the O's in solid position to win. Of course, the offense went cold in two of the three.
Scott Feldman Downnew_medium If the early numbers are any indication, this wasn't a great pickup for the O's. Feldman couldn't find the plate on Saturday night and was pulled after less than 5 innings.
Miguel Gonzalez Downnew_medium Last two starts have been entirely forgettable.
Bud Norris
Upnew_medium Had a successful Oriole debut, allowing 2 ER in 6 innings while striking out 8 (against his former mates).
Chris Tillman Downnew_medium Didn't look so #stafface on Friday night (6 ER in 5.1 innings), but he still got the win, pushing his record to 14-3.

Tommy Hunter http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Three innings, 1 ER allowed.
Jim Johnson Upnew_medium 3 for 3 in save ops after a week of hardly no use at all.
Steve Johnson http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Came off of the DL for one game with the MLB club
Brian Matusz http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Notched a couple more scoreless appearances this week, but had to work himself out of trouble during Saturday's game (which pitcher didn't?)
T.J. McFarland Downnew_medium Has allowed ER in his last three appearances.
Darren O'Day Downnew_medium Saturday was a rare bad outing for O'Day, but don't expect too many of those.
Troy Patton Upnew_medium O's best reliever this week allowed just 2 hits in over 3 innings of relief.
Francisco Rodriguez Downnew_medium Maybe it's just me, but he has not been good since arriving in Baltimore.
Taylor Teagarden http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png A solitary double brought his BA up to a scorching .133 for the season.
Matt Wieters Downnew_medium Just 2 hits this week, although did have a nice homer on Saturday when it appeared the rest of the offense was simply rolling over.

Alexi Casilla Downnew_medium Didn't play at all last week, but got 2 appearances this week and went 0-8
Chris Davis http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Yes, he hit a couple of homers this week, but he's still looked pretty off at the plate. Swinging at far too many pitches and that's getting him into trouble at times.
Ryan Flaherty Upnew_medium Friday night might have been a career game for Flaherty.
J.J. Hardy http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Average week of .250 (4-16). Saw a rare day off on Saturday night.
Manny Machado Upnew_medium He's seen his average drop below .300 for the first time since April 27th, but all in all, not a bad week. A .273 BA with a double and a homer.
Brian Roberts http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Currently on paternity leave.
Danny Valencia http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Recalled thanks to Brian Roberts missing time and actually hit pretty well yesterday.

L.J. Hoes http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Traded to Houston as a part of the Bud Norris deal.
Adam Jones Downnew_medium Three of his five hits went for doubles, but he looked pretty poor at the plate for the most part.
Nick Markakis http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Five hits and four walks, but not much else from Markakis. His SLG continues to sink even further. Hasn't had an XBH in several weeks now.
Nate McLouth Upnew_medium Hit his first homer in quite a while, along with 5 other hits.
Steve Pearce http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/217757/dash.png Returned from the DL and went 3-5 over two appearances. Keep up the good work.
Henry Urrutia Downnew_medium The DH spot continues to be an issue for the O's.
Disabled List
Wilson Betemit Expected to begin a rehab assignment with the O's GCL affiliate. Could be back at some point in August.
Steve Clevenger Expected to continue his rehab with one of the class A affiliates this week.
Jason Hammel No tear in his elbow, just some inflammation.
Nolan Reimold Done for the year after neck surgery.
