White Sox @ Orioles lineups for Saturday - Chen vs. Santiago

Joy R. Absalon-USA TODAY Sports

Wieters gets the day off, Valencia is moved up to sixth, and the White Sox are sending out another lefty.

Did you know that four of the five White Sox starters are left handed? What on earth? Naturally, there is another one on the mound for them today. Hector Santiago throws a little bit harder than John Danks on average, but he's hardly a power pitcher. The lefty-challenged Orioles beat Omar Quintana on Thursday and Danks last night, can they possibly beat a lefty three days in a row?

The White Sox are on an eight-game losing streak, which on one hand means they're terrible. But on the other hand it means they're due. Which will win out?

White Sox lineups courtesy of Eddie Encina:

In case you're not familiar with all of the White Sox players (and why should you be), those complete names are: Leury Garcia CF, Gordon Beckham 2B, Alexei Ramirez SS, Paul Konerko DH, Avisail Garcia RF, Jeff Keppinger 1B, Dayan Viciedo LF, Josh Phegley C, Marcus Semien 3B.

Of that lineup, not a one has an OPS+ of over 100 on the season. They're only regular with that is Adam Dunn at 104 and he's resting today with lefty Wei-Yin Chen on the mound.

The Orioles are again using their lefty lineup. That means Danny Valencia gets to play, and why not? When he's in the lineup he tends to hit. A number of people seem to think that means he should be playing more, but I happen to think it means that he's being used properly.
