The education of Suk-Min Yoon continues...

Norfolk Tides 0, Charlotte Knights 4

While one wouldn't call Suk-Min Yoon's outing "good," it was a vast improvement over his debut. Today, Yoon lasted 4.1 innings over last week's 2.1, allowed three earned runs against last week's nine and struck out four where last week he struck out none. Work in progress. Brock Huntzinger built on his nice Spring with his second straight scoreless outing.

As indicated by the final score, the offense was nearly non-existent today (0-1 RISP). Cord Phelps had a pair of hits and not much else happened.

Bowie Baysox 7, Akron RubberDucks 5

Christian Walker was 1-5 and Michael Ohlman was 0-4 with two strikeouts.

In his 45th start for Bowie at age 27, Jake Pettit allowed four earned runs, ten baserunners and a homer in six innings and yet he still was credited with the win. Oliver Drake picked up his second save of the season.

Whatever ill will Glynn Davis bears the rest of the Carolina League has been born out in his performances this April. Davis added four hits to boost his already impressive early total to 21. He's now slashing .477/.500/.614. Steel Russell made the most of his third start of the year also chipping in four hits. Brenden Webb had a very Brenden Webb day after a fashion picking up a double and a walk against three strikeouts.

Making his 3rd start on the year, Branden Kline allowed four earned runs in four inings pitched. He walked two batters and struck out one. Converted middle infielder Mychal Givens tossed a pair of shutout innings. Givens has started the season off with three shutout appearances in which he has struck out eight batters and walked one.
