It has probably been said about a thousand times already, especially within this website and numerous other blogs. But doesn't it just feel like it is the Orioles time? The fans have waited long enough and right now, this team is not just pretty good. These Orioles are one of, if not the, best teams in baseball.
They win games they don't have any business winning. The team doesn't have one starting pitcher that a casual baseball fan could name. In fact, the "ace" of the staff changes just about every week. Two of the teams key cogs, Machado and Wieters, have been injured and/or suspended for large chunks of time. How can this be happening?
Davis has become a shell of what he was last season when he challenged (kind of) for the the Triple Crown. So, why is the team way better now? Hardy has lost his ability to hit the long ball. Some nights it seems like they would be better off pulling someone out of the stands to play second base rather than Flaherty or Schoop. Now, both of em are gonna be playing for the next two weeks!? That is, unless Cord Phelps helps us out. Yeah....
This team is just awesome. I can't explain it. It doesn't make sense. But I love it. I love the pies in the face. I love the sunflower seed celebrations. I love that teams can't push the Orioles around anymore.
Just keep doing what you are doing, boys.
