They will have to triumph against a player who was once in the Orioles system but turned into completely wasted money: Tsuyoshi Wada. How does he have a 2.75 ERA in even a small sample size as a Cubs pitcher? How, indeed.
They'll have to do it without Cord Phelps, who's been designated for assignment to make room for Miguel Gonzalez to return to the roster to start Sunday's game. I don't know how they'll ever be able to recover from a loss like that.
