If ever there was a recipe for a letdown game, it'd probably be the game that comes the afternoon after the celebration of 60 years of the Orioles, with more O's greats packed into Camden Yards than ever before, culminating in the current team coming out and shaking hands with the legends from past magical Orioles teams. Some day years hence, the Buck Showalter era will get its own part of such an Orioles ceremony. For today, they play.
Ubaldo Jimenez makes his return from the disabled list for the game, which also adds to that letdown feeling, along with the fact that the Orioles are only 17-21 in day games. They aren't as good in the day as they are at night. We're far enough into the season that there's probably some reason for it beyond luck. Beats me what it could be.
I hope they saved some offense for today after last night's explosion.
