Saturday, January 24, 2015 was the BBWAA New York Dinner, where major national awards (MVP, Cy Young, Manager of the Year, Rookie of the Year) as well as the New York Chapter awards are presented. I was there, and took some photos I thought might be of interest to Orioles fans. (No, I'm not special. Basically, any fan who shells out for a ticket can attend.)
Buck Showalter was there to collect his AL Manager of the Year award.
He and Stick Michaels had some funny stories about each other.
(You can hear one or two of them here. See other clips from the event here. They will also be highlights aired on the MLB Network Friday night.)
Cal Ripken, Jr. was there.
He was honored with the "You Gotta Have Heart" award. He shared it with Pete Frates, founder of the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Jose Abreu, the AL Rookie of the Year, and Dellin Betances, the New York Player of the Year.
Cal Ripken, Jr. introduced Abreu and presented him with his award.

Manfred officially assumed the commissioner’s duties at midnight that night.
There's a program book, called The Scorebook, that's a sort year in review, along with short articles about the people being honored. There are many ads in it, purchased by individuals, companies, and teams to honor people for their achievements or memorialize their passing.
This is the Orioles' ad congratulating Showalter:
