Norfolk Tides 6, Indianapolis (Pirates) 5
The Tides were mostly kept in check by Indianapolis starter Jameson Taillon, who shall be known to history as the player drafted immediately before Manny Machado. In the meantime, Norfolk starter Ariel Miranda took the full Tommy Hunter (Five Runs, All Earned) and that seemed to be that - at least until the Tides rallied for five runs in the eighth inning to put themselves on top.
Ryan Flaherty had a 2-4 night and is now 5-10 since being optioned. I think that guy might be too good for Triple-A. Christian Walker also had a multi-hit game for Norfolk. He is batting .289/.344/.506 so far this season.
Bowie Baysox - OFF
Salem Red Sox 7, Frederick Keys 4
Keys starter Mitch Horacek kept Salem off the board for five innings. He left the game and things went downhill. In a lot of ways this wasn't exactly a fair fight - Salem has big names like Yoan Moncada and Andrew Benintendi, both of whom did good things in this game. The Keys have, uh... Jomar Reyes, who's interesting, but not on those guys' level. They also had a rehabbing Jimmy Paredes, who went 3-4, as you'd expect for a big leaguer down in High-A.
