Hello, friends.
There are now 100 days until Orioles Opening Day 2015. A lot of things can happen in 100 days, although the Orioles probably won't be involved in many of those things. For one thing, it's not really their style to make an offseason splash, and for two, who's left out there for them to splash by signing anyway? Max Scherzer isn't walking through that door. Whoever else is out there isn't walking through that door either.
If you believe the weird rumblings, there might even still be a chance that Dan Duquette walks out that door into the great white north.
It's hard out there for a news linker right now. You've probably noticed there's nothing noteworthy going on. Here are some links for your Saturday, which at least have a tiny bit to do with baseball...
2015 Sleeper Series - Jonathan Schoop (Fake Teams)
Over on SB Nation's fantasy-oriented blog, a look at whether Jonathan Schoop has any potential for people to use him next year on their fake teams. My personal suggestion is don't take Orioles on your fantasy teams. You can only be disappointed.
Delmon Young signing one estimate of Dayan Viciedo's value - South Side Sox
Our counterparts over on the White Sox blog consider the Delmon Young signing through the lens of one of their own players, Dayan Viciedo.
Wil Myers may have had an "attitude problem" in Kansas City - Royals Review
This hasn't got so much to do with the Orioles, but don't you find the Wil Myers saga kind of fascinating?
There are no living former Orioles players with a birthday today.
And that's the way it is in Birdland on December 27 - or at least unless something happens later. Have a safe Saturday.
