The View from BrianS's Seat
I got several pictures from Camden Chatters that I didn't get a chance to post during the regular season, so I figure with the off-season and winter it might be a good time to look at some photos taken last summer.
BrianS snapped this photo from his seat at the Sovereign Bank Stadium, home of the independent league York Revolution. Brian included some fun facts about the Revs and their connections to the Orioles, namely:
-- Brooks Robinson is part of the ownership group
-- Chris Hoiles was the Revs' first manager
-- Andy Etchebarren is the current manager
-- Former O's who have played for the Revs include Tike Redman, Ramon Nivar, Matt Riley, and Val Majewski.
Thanks for the great photo, Brian!
(This part is unrelated, but here is a fun fact for you: When Matt Riley made his debut for the Orioles in 1999, it was the first time there was a Baltimore Oriole younger than me.)

Matthew Lindsay is a lifelong Orioles fan who just happens to be the official scorer for the Dayton Dragons, a minor league affiliate for the Cincinnati Reds. He took this photo from his spot in the press box at Fifth Third Field. In this game the Dragons were hosting the Peoria Chiefs, a Cubs affiliate, on July 22, 2011.

Shown here are our two stud position players, Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop, when both were playing for the Delmarva Shorebirds early in the year. This picture is from April 11th, when the Shorebirds lost to the Kannapolis Intimdators 8-3.
The view from your seat -- with a story!
I've gotten a big response to this feature, so big that I'm backlogged with a quite a few pictures to post. My favorite thing about this has been getting to hear stories from people about their experiences with the game of baseball. You've already seen photos from a ballgame in Afghanistan and a minor league game with faulty sprinklers, and I still have in the queue a picture from a cross country baseball road trip, a photo taken from an official scorer who is a lifelong O's fan, and more. It's really great that no matter how awful our baseball team, no matter how much they disappoint us, we are all still able to have fun with the game.
The picture above is from July 18, 2008, and was sent to me by a gentleman named Yann. Yann is a native of Maryland, but has lived in Scotland for five years. Yann attended the game with his British lady, and it was her first experience with baseball. Click through the jump to read the story in Yann's words.

This picture was taken at Fenway Park as the Orioles lost to the Red Sox on July 9, 2011 by a Camden Chat reader with the handle of SayHey13. According to the contributor, the park had a good number of O's fans This is another one that you'll need to click to get the full effect. I am a sucker for a panoramic photo of a baseball park.
