Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Cleveland Indians pitcher Anthony Reyes will not pitch for the remainder of the season because of right elbow trouble.
The club made the decision Tuesday to shut down Reyes, who has battled elbow soreness multiple times this season. Reyes left a start on September 5 against Kansas City after just three innings with soreness, and hasn't pitched since.
Reyes, who was acquired by Cleveland in a July 26 trade from St. Louis, has posted a 4-2 record and 2.76 earned run average in 16 games this season between the Indians and Cardinals. He made six starts, all with Cleveland, going 2-1 with a 1.83 ERA.
