New York, NY (Sports Network) - Texas Rangers infielder Ramon Vazquez has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount stemming from his actions in a game on September 20, Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old was scheduled to serve his suspension on Wednesday as the Rangers are hosting the Athletics, however, he has elected to appeal the decision.
Vazquez was ejected, along with team manager Ron Washington, in the seventh inning of last Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Angels.
On the season, he is batting .292 with six home runs and 40 RBI in 102 games.
