St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves have activated pitcher Manny Acosta off the 15-day disabled list. He had missed 39 games with a strained hamstring.
Acosta was hurt during a July 6 game against Houston while running to first on a ground ball in the 16th inning of a 17-inning contest.
The 27-year-old right-hander made four rehab appearances at Triple-A Richmond and worked 3 2/3 scoreless innings.
In 41 games this season entering Saturday's action, Acosta owns a record of 3-5 with three saves and a 4.02 earned run average.
The Braves opened a roster spot by optioning pitcher Matt DeSalvo to Richmond. DeSalvo had a rough inning during Friday's 18-3 loss to the Cardinals, as he was roughed up for six runs and eight hits.
In two appearances with the Braves, the 27-year-old right-hander has an ERA of 31.50, having allowed seven runs and 11 hits in two innings.
