Gameday Thread: O's at Jays, 06/12

Kris Benson, RH Casey Janssen, RH (6-5, 4.64) (5-3, 3.07)

Game time is 7:07 on CSN and RSN.

Hell yes! Benson/Janssen IV! Inarguably baseball's greatest rivalry.

I've done three previews on Benson v. Janssen already. I'm sorry, I'm out of material here. Benson good start return to earth, Janssen young pitching well won last four decisions. Watch the game.

I predict
A loss...  nothing against you Bennie, but your team sucks, and we're gonna lose tonight.  Sorry.

Perhaps
just perhaps I will make such a dire prediction every game.  But I'm not superstitious or anything.

A bright side for tonight
Game 4 of the stanley cup play-offs are on. There we can watch an american team beat up on the canadian team.

Curling is interesting
for the first 5 minutes, then you laugh at it for 3 minutes then you say "Fuck this" and chance the channel.

Curling
I tried to understand it...I really, really tried.

The US Women's curling team had some cuties on it though.

I actually went and played a few games
I was so interested. It's pretty cool once you learn all the stuff. And a very social game. Tradition is that winning team buys losing team beers.

Well that didn't take long.
3 pitches, 1 homer.

Yeah, baby
The O's went 1-2-3 in the top of the first, and Rios has already touched Benson for a dinger in the bottom.

Woo-hoo! What an exciting start!

NO TV for me tonight
"Millar reached on an infield single"?

I'd like to have seen that.

and he does!
I can't see the game, but the GameCast location of the strikeout pitch for Wells makes it look like it was in the dirt a foot outside.

Must've been a sick pitch. :)

by zknower on Jun 12, 2006 8:09 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah
It was a check swing, but Wells looked pretty retarded when he realized (too late) where it was.

Bases loaded for Millar!  Damn, that's less exciting.

Linda Cohn
on SportsCenter is angering me.  This is the third time I've seen her do a highlight with Kakes in it.  EVERY time she calls him 'Mark-a-kis' (the second "a" pronounced like the second "e" in telephone with the stressor on kis).  Those Jackasses at ESPN need to get off their YankSox boners do just a little research.  Either that or O's announcers need to get it right.

they've got to ride
their mammoth yankee/redsox dick to make money! I remember for about 3 days I even bought into the Yanks/Redsox big rivarly then it ended.

They do the same thing with Dan Uggla. They can't decide if it sounds like "Ugly" or like "Oogla"

Zaun is really an Oriole Killer....
Just like Travis "I suck against anyone but the O's" Lee, he seems to always murder us.

I'm really starting to hate Zaun.

that's what I'm talkin' about

BTW
We are now 5-5 vs. the Jays this year.

And another quality start from a pitcher.  :)

by zknower on Jun 12, 2006 10:06 PM EDT reply actions

I am remotely impressed...
Benson pitched okay...the bullpen did it's job and the bats came alive for 11 hits and 6 runs.  We are going to have to do this more often then we are now if we expect to get to or above .500.

That said, Hernandez had a great game and Patterson and Markakis scored a run.  Impressed, now come back the next couple nights and do the same things.  I will bring the broom.

When is Penn due back?
